Accessibility

1. Statement of Commitment

The Cleaning Concern is committed to ensuring equal access and participation for everyone, including people with disabilities. We believe in integration and equal opportunity. We are committed to treating people with disabilities in a way that allows them to maintain their dignity and independence.

We will do so by removing and preventing barriers to accessibility, meeting our current accessibility requirements under the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA), and upholding our duties under the Ontario Human Rights Code.

2. Accessible Customer Service & Communications

Because our team operates dynamically across diverse client sites, we adapt our service delivery to remain fully accessible:

  • Communication: We will communicate with people with disabilities in ways that take their disability into account. Upon request, we will provide or arrange for alternative formats and communication supports in a timely manner.
  • Service Animals & Support Persons: We welcome service animals and support persons. While our operations take place offsite at third-party client facilities, we ensure our staff respect and accommodate individuals accompanied by service animals or support persons at all times.
  • Notice of Temporary Disruption: If an offsite cleaning service is disrupted at a client facility in a way that impacts building accessibility (e.g., closed walkways or fresh floor treatments), we will coordinate with facility management to provide clear, timely notice to those affected.

3. Accessible Employment Practices

As our workforce grows, we ensure accessibility is integrated into our employment lifecycle:

  • Individualized Emergency Response: If an employee requires assistance due to a disability during an emergency, we will develop a confidential, individualized workplace emergency response plan tailored to their specific offsite work locations.
  • Recruitment & Hiring: We will notify job applicants and the public that accommodations are available upon request during our recruitment process. If an applicant requests an accommodation, we will consult with them to provide suitable adjustments that take their specific accessibility needs into account.

4. Training

We provide mandatory AODA training to all employees as part of their onboarding. Training is tracked digitally and covers:

  • An overview of the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act.
  • The requirements of the Customer Service and Employment Standards.
  • How to interact and communicate respectfully with people who have various types of disabilities.
  • How the Ontario Human Rights Code applies to people with disabilities.

5. Feedback Process
The Cleaning Concern welcomes feedback on how we provide accessible services. Feedback can be submitted via phone, email, or through our website. We will ensure our feedback process is accessible to people with disabilities by providing or arranging for accessible formats and communication support upon request.

6. Policy Review and Availability
This policy is prepared in writing and is made publicly available (e.g., via a link on our company website or upon request). It will be reviewed annually and updated as necessary to reflect operational changes or provincial legislative updates.
